A Brief History
The Guernsey Enterprise Agency began life in 1984 and was the brainchild of the late eric Gaudion. Eric was a great advocate and supporter of small businesses and secured the budget and office space needed to get bring the GEA to life. His stewardship was followed by Meg Heyworth and then John McLellan in an era when working at the Agency could be a lonely existance. During the 1990′s there was a short period of time when the Agency was forced to close but the Young Businessmens Group felt there was a need for the Agency to continue and it was quickly reborn. The current Agency became an LBG in 2004 when John Stares took over and he introduced a team approach to providing support for start up businesses.
The team of Advisors has consisted over recent years of Peter Walters, Tina James, Tony Brassell and the late David Sparkes. Sue Mees provides administrative support for the team.
The team is managed by John Stares and is controlled by a Board of Directors. The current Board members are:-
Warren Mauger – Chairman, John Stares, Carla McNulty Bauer, Carl Symes and Vannessa McInerney.
